Correspondence between SOC1 Genotypes and Time of Endodormancy Break in Peach (Prunus persica L. Batsch) Cultivars

چکیده

Knowledge of dormancy traits are important in peach breeding. Traditional method selection seedlings takes a long time because the juvenile period plants; therefore, novel application marker assisted methods needed to accelerate this work. The aims study were test extent variability PpSOC1 gene among 16 cultivars and establish whether SOC1 can be used as functional for timing endodormancy break based on 14-year phenology evaluation covering nine consecutive phases, from string stage ripening. Based an SSR motif SOC1, three allele categories detected: one cultivar was heterozygous (203/209), while five 15 homozygous carried 203 bp remainder characterized with 218 bp. There significant correlations between alleles various strongest being observed at stage, marking end endodormancy. At explained 82.6% phenotypic variance; reached 11.7 days earlier than those allele. This finding makes screening valuable

China is an important centre of diversity for Prunus persica. In the present study, 17 Chinese peach cultivars were evaluated for phenolic content and antioxidant activity. Neochlorogenic acid (NCHA), chlorogenic acid (CHA), procyanidin B1 (B1), catechin (CAT), cyanidin-3-O-glucoside (C3G), quercetin-3-O-galactoside (Q3GAL), quercetin-3-O-glucoside (Q3GLU), quercetin-3-O-rutinoside (Q3R), and k...

Quality oriented fruit breeding: Peach [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch]

Promising new tools for peach fruit quality breeding have been revised in this work. These tools included fruit quality evaluation through physical, chemical and sensorial parameters and post-harvest storage evaluation. The development of a feasible method for an early testing of peach selections generated in breeding programs is also well described together with the discussion of the inheritan...

JASMONATES NEGATIVELY INTERFERE WITH FRUIT DEVELOPMENT AND RIPENING IN PEACH (Prunus persica L. Batsch)

Jasmonates (JAs) are signal molecules which elicit stress responses through JAs-responsive genes; they are also involved in developmental processes, including fruit growth and ripening. In the present study, methyl jasmonate (MJ) and n-propyl dyhydrojasmonate (PDJ) were applied to peach trees at the S1, S3 and S4 phases. In all cases, both chemicals inhibited climacteric ethylene production and...

Association genetics of chilling injury susceptibility in peach (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch) across multiple years

Peach and nectarine (Prunus persica L.) are highly perishable; they ripen and deteriorate quickly at ambient temperature. Storage at low temperature (0-5 °C) is a common strategy used to slow the ripening processes and to extend shelf life. However, if susceptible varieties are held too long at a low temperature, they will not ripen properly and will develop chilling injury (CI) symptoms like m...
